Okay, I kinda ‘have to’ include this report on the site…even though it rocks my world (not in a good way), and even though it’s not exactly a mystery.
It is however, cryptozoology news.
Is Bigfoot real or not? This woman is suing California to recognize it as a species…
Yeah, you read the last line correctly – A San Bernardino area woman named Claudia Ackley is actually suing California’s Department of Fish and Wildlife and Natural Resources Agency over Bigfoot.
Glad you asked…
The 46-year-old Crestline resident, who fancies herself as a bit of a hard-nosed cryptozoologist, thinks that the Department of Fish and Wildlife and Natural Resources Agency have failed at their job…
Apparently they have neglected to keep Californians safe from the Sasquatch breed.
Claudia Ackley filed suit in San Bernardino Superior Court on January the 18th (just over a month ago!) because she believes she has had numerous encounters with the Sasquatch over the years.
Her most recent encounter came back in March 2017 during a hike with her two daughters in Lake Arrowhead. This incident apparently involved three Bigfoots (a family if you like!) crossing their path.
Ackley firmly believes that the government is putting people in danger by not recognizing this cryptid beast as a real entity.
She claims that they are big, probably dangerous and we as humans, are completely vulnerable.
After her last Bigfoot encounter (the March 2017 incident) she got into a heated argument with forest rangers. They were trying to convince her that she had encountered a small group of bears…but she was having none of it!
She then decided to team up with Todd Standing (creator of the film Discovering Bigfoot) to put her case together.
The lawsuit claims that the departments in question have:
“been derelict in their duty by not acknowledging the existence of the Sasquatch species, despite a mountain of documented and scientific evidence. It has had a chilling effect on the study of the Sasquatch, considered illegitimate and relegated to the category of paranormal research.”
The lawsuit also goes on to claim that Ackley’s livelihood and credibility have been dragged through the dirt because of the refusal to acknowledge the existence of the Sasquatch.
Is Bigfoot Real or Not?
Okay, this is a first for me and this website – I really don’t know where to go with this report…
What I do know is that cryptozoology is not taken seriously enough that often…and I don’t think Claudia Ackley’s actions are going to help this problem, one bit!
It’s best to leave the rest up to you – what are your thoughts on this rather strange lawsuit?
